32 Weeks Pregnant.

Today we are 32 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I am a bit behind in posting this weeks update, but here it is.

Last week was my first week off work, and it was fantastic! I caught up on some reading, went to antinatal yoga, did a swim fit class, ran loads of errands, did some gardening and spent lots of time with my lovely Mum. The yoga class was really good. I was worried that it would be a bit too gentle, but it was a really good workout, focusing on opening the hips and breathing into relaxation. I will be going again. The swim fit class isn’t tailored specifically for pregger types, so I had a chat with the instructor beforehand and I just had to take it easy, and not do any jumping. It was good fun, especially as the average age of the class was about 75. My mum came with me to that one as she is currently recovering from a total knee replacement, so the water is really good for her too.

Most excitingly, yesterday was our first NCT session. The National Childbirth Trust run really informative, in depth, much more natural birth focused antinatal classes than the National Health Service (which have up to 80 people in a room!). We had 6 couples in our group,  all a similar age and with similar lifestyles. It felt really personal, and many NCT classes stay in contact for years after their babies arrive, supporting each other through similar experiences. I am organising our first social for after our next session, so hopefully we all start to get to know each other really well.

The class was really useful, for me but really more for Harlyn. He would not have had the confidence to question the medical professionals before, but I think he knows enough to do so now. He also understands why I want a waterbirth now, and will fight for it when the time comes. 

The next session is focussed on breastfeeding, so that will hopefully give us the knowledge and confidence to support each other through what will be a very challenging time.

How pregnant: 32 weeks.


How feeling: Bloody rib ache! I have to sit on the birthball or on the floor now as the sofa is just unbearably uncomfortable after 2 minutes. Fewer braxton hicks this week, but the cub is active all the time. (Saying that, I am Braxton hicking as I type this!)

Any symptoms: Feeling huge now. Getting out of breath really easily.


Any cravings: Still nothing of note!

Weight gain: Up 1 stone 2lbs from starting weight. I am hungry all the time now…no change there.

Waist measurement: 35.5″.

Bump measurement: 39.5″.

Maternity clothes: My maternity swimsuit was great! 

Belly button: Outie.

Looking forward to: Continuing with our NCT classes. Getting near to the end now! Eeeeek!

    1. Eugh, it is just habit. I come in and plonk on the sofa. Then 10 seconds later I remember and have to heave myself back up again to sit on the ball. It really does help though.
